Re: Your question--

Like all broadcast television signals, what was recorded on Quad tape  
was interlaced.

In the US and other countries sharing what became the NTSC standard,  
525 lines at 29.97 frames per second in two fields.

The UK had 405/25 monochrome and then 625/25 PAL machines.
