Al,

I toured your facility around 1980 (?) with music video producer Kim Friedman. I think he was doing a Chaka Kawn (?) post there. I'll never forget seeing the Squeeze Zoom in action, and the roar of fans to keep it cool, if I remember correctly. I was working for NBC at the time and we only had MKII DVE's and some Quantel 5000's.

I presume this is the same MVS that had the TK 45 truck I worked in also once for a live to network drama out of Dallas (The Oldest Living Graduate). Wayne Parsons was the TD.

In an earlier life I worked at a company in Hollywood, (Mobile Video Systems) that had an early generation Squeezoom. They made a good living correcting All In The Family and the 30:00 syndicated version of Carol Burnett, among others. The device was able to make good looking video appear as though you smeared Vaseline on your eyes.

You had to watch the picture like a hawk for memory dropouts from that piece of junk.

"All In The Family" was one such show I recall seeing later in years that suffered from this procedure.

Did it not meet blanking specs when recorded on Quad at CBS and Metromedia Square?
