[QuadList] Help identifying an unknown Ampex Quad machine

The machine in question is a VR-1000, retrofitted with the solid state Ampex electronics, the same as in a VR-1200. From what little bit I can see, I believe it even has Velcomp (bottom right side of overbridge. I don't believe this has anything to do with either Allen or Merlin. Looks like a standard Ampex upfit including the servo control panel just above the Intersync.
Concerning the missing modules, it's hard to tell exactly from the pic but I believe they may be the optional AFC cards, so it may be best suited for playback.
Regarding the references to a VR-1100, NO. Here's a picture from my website showing one of my 1100's.

You'll see that it looks pretty much like a VR-1200. There's literature available under the Ampex tab on my literature page if you want more info.
As far as the transport is concerned, there is VERY little difference between the original VR-1000 transport and the transport in the VR-1100/1200/2000. So a VR-1000 updated with new electronics is pretty much equal to the performance of its peers.
