Good research, Park.

Which may partly account for how good color looks on pre-70's Quad
recordings of well tuned TK-41's?

Since the Guy's inquirer is dealing with PAL 1"... the question is
more about what happens to chroma in PAL.

What effect would going from Direct Color 1" PAL through a digital TBC
to 4:2:0 DVCAM do to the picture quality.

And to bring this back to Quad... since most Quad is direct color, but
usually played back through analog time base correction systems, what
differences would exist for the same signal recorded to Quad and 1"
PAL when played back. (Highband Quad v 1")
