[QuadList] Ebay Item - Ampex Precision Magnetic Tape ScannerHead Parts

I received the reply from Ampex this morning and this is what he said.
"These are parts for an old Ampex DCRsi data recorder"
This confirms that Don was bang on with his response.

Ampex did not make a D1 VTR so probably not. If there is still interest in this I could send the picture to one of the last people I know at Ampex (actually still works there) who might be able to ID them.

How about D-1's?? They look like about the right length.

The assemblies are not part of the normal heads used for all the machines except the VR-3000 and AVR-1. Those are the only heads that I have never seen. The connector is the wrong type for the heads. Any one else have an idea?

They are not Mk-XI (VR-3000) or Mk-XX (AVR-1/ACR-25). They look like part of scanner assemblies for airborne instrumentation recorders which show up on eBay from time to time.
