Yes, horrible audio. The mics used were Altec "Salt Shaker" mics, really poor mics. No bass. Of course back then, little was known how to mic a rock group but I'm surprised that Martin didn't help out. He was there on the first American shows.

The naked sound is a revelation, hearing George's guitar and his mistakes plain as day and hearing the harmony without the lead in some vocal passages. But it all shows that The Beatles were one kickin' live band..
