[QuadList] Sugestions on how to clean sappers.

Hay Everybody, 
 
Does anybody have any suggestions on cleaning sappy 2" Scotch tapes? 
 
Got several hundred tapes that were stored in a storage locker for several years without air conditioning. 
A lot of tapes were stored on there sides and the glue has seeped through to the back reels of the tape. 
 
Any suggestions as to what will cut through the sap without destroying the tape?
