[QuadList] Weekend Picture Puzzle for 2/26/2011-Background on newer machine

I wonder why they did not use an AVR-1? They could have eliminated the whole vacuum issue by porting a small hose to the "outside". That would have got the weight way down to about 2,000 pounds.

Here's the information on the machine David posted a picture of, from RCA Broadcast News #156-Aug-1975-Page 4-Space-Quad

Might be the easiest Quad machine to use... with instructions on the front that include head cleaning!

Your machine is a little more primitive than this 1975 model. I'll guess yours is a Mercury or Apollo flight data recorder.

Built by RCA. 1974 or so (will have exact date later). Actually, may  have been for sky lab.
