[QuadList] Video Head Differences

I had forgotten about the captive screws.  Yes I did like those.   The 
latch that held the guide closed was also on the other side.  The  brushes were 
interesting.  I remember having to have spares on the old low  band heads 
that I had for the TRT.  
 
There was also a special tool for somebody's head to adjust the  
transformer.  An Allen driver with the plastic handle ground down.  I  never did an 
adjustment to the transformer as I could not see why to  do that.  If the head 
worked, why fiddle with it?

comparrison, but one simple thing that I liked about the RCA head was  that all 3 
of the mounting screws were captive and exposed.  Made for  easier removal 
and installation.
 
As for design, didn't RCA have air-bearings  first?  Ampex had rotary 
transformers first.
