[QuadList] AVR 3 Jitters

Has anybody ever experienced excessive jitter in the supply and take up reel motors in an AVR 3?  
 
Machine seems to start up ok, then after about 20 minutes the jitters start and get progressively worse over time. 
 
Sounds like a transistor overheating, but don't notice anything obvious.
