[QuadList] AVR-2 Hint of the week--Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Ted. So may others on this group are
light years ahead of me but I'll try to dig up some stuff.

One important rule we had at RCA was to never let two field engineers appear
at the same place at the same time. If this did happen, all the expenses
for both engineers shot up for some unknown reason J.

We did all share our field reports which I still have and would be happy to
share somehow. It would be a lot of scanning and probably difficult to
distribute but I am in a scanning mode these years so maybe I'll do it. I
have reports covering the TCR, TR-600 and not so many of the earlier
machines. Some of the Problems/Solutions are useful. All hand written of
course. I was ultimately going to send them to James Snyder as they might
get put to good use with him.

We didn't have internet or cell phones of course. We could make all of the
phone calls we wanted but had to get "time and charges" from the operator
immediately following the call for the expense report. This was not an easy
task. Especially internationally.

I also have my TR-600 Servo Setup book with comments which I can scan if
that is of any use.

>From an even more past life, I maintained VR-1200s and have the intersync
setup we used which was mostly modified from the Ampex one. But it may not
be useful to the group. I'll scan it as well.

Regards, Gary

RCA hints or tips, anyone? Gary A--Some tweaks you learned with RCA
Service?

Ted
