A friend in the UK advises:  Free to a good home - Rank Cintel mk. II manuals and two 1" Type-C VTRs

Located in Middlesbrough, TS1 3BA UK (Northeastern England)

A comprehensive, though possibly not complete, set of manuals for a Rank Cintel mk. II is available - you would only need to cover the cost of packaging and shipping from (or, if applicable, within) the UK.  

From the same source: Two Ampex 1" C PAL VTRs of late '70s or early '80s vintage, exact model number, state of completeness and condition unknown.

The VTRs need to be gone by 16 January, and would need to be picked up or packed and shipped by the receiver's agent.

The person who received them tells me the VTR's  were from a local production company that was wound up after the founder retired, and were passed on to the current holder in around 2003.  

He was told at the time that one was very nearly in working condition (i.e. that a competent engineer could get it working with little problem) but that the other was probably only good for spares. He was never able to get time to find someone to make them operational.

He's since moved on... and his successor needs them gone as his employer wants the storage space.
