Ted,

I am transferring some tapes that used masking tape to hold down. Well, the tape dried out and left a lot of very fine particles where the masking tape used to be. I cut off the first three feet or so. Most of these tapes have 20-30 seconds of blank tape before bars.

Suggestion: don't use masking tape to hold down tape ends!
