I received a different one from Bill's account that had a different link.

It is an all too common problem. The usual fix is to change passwords rather frequently, and to use something that's not easily figured out. Something with lots of changes between letters and numbers and use of irregular CapItALizatIOn.

My nephew, niece and a number of other folks with Yahoo accounts disgorge spam such as this to every address in the Yahoo user's address book.

I've also had messages with, for example, my nephew's name as the sender, but the actual e-mail address is something quite different... usually a gobbledygook of alphanumeric characters at yahoo . com.

That's apparently where the Yahoo user's address book names have been lifted but the address the spam or buggy message is not the address book owners Yahoo address.

The QuadList's Mailman software won't let the latter type of message pass because the e-mails don't match a subscriber.
