[QuadList] If you've had posts that didn't make it to the list recently... please read this--

Greetings,

Our web host support folks are trying to identify the intermittent issue re: what's happening/not happening when several folks have sent e-mails but never seen them post to the list.

We know David Crosthwait and Ed Sharpe have reported this issue happening to them.  Don Norwood also from one specific e-mail address. (he changed addresses and hasn't had a problem since that I'm aware of.)

If it has happened to you, we'd like to know.  We also have some suggestions going forward.

1:	CC yourself on posts to the list, so you know your server sent them out. (The round robin)

2:	Log into the QuadList mailman page, (bottom of page) and ensure that your settings include getting an ACK (acknowledgement) that your message was received and sent out.

3:	If it's been more than half an hour and you have not received an ACK and have not seen the post show up in your mailbox, or in the archives at this URL:
http://mail.quadvideotapegroup.com/pipermail/quadlist_quadvideotapegroup.com/

Please take the steps below to help our webhost's IT staff diagnose the problem:

For folks that have had this problem in the last week... (or have it happen in the future,) please send me several items I can pass on to them:

Please "Forward as attachment"  the "didn't post" email itself.  This will include the headers so they can check e-mail logs by time, message ID and other details. That will help them see whether that message got as far as the data center and if so, what happened then.

They can also compare the headers of the "didn't make it" e-mail with one that did to see whether there's something that may be triggering the issue:

Please attach a post that DID make it, and the same post you received from the list.

So you know what it looks like...

Your assistance will help us identify how many people are having this problem, and provide some data for the support folks to work with.
