We had similar issues with RCA Quads.  I spent a lot of time retrofitting TR-600s for similar and different problems.  It’s finally nice to hear Ampex did too since many of our customers insisted they didn’t have these problems with Ampex machines.  (Loved them both actually).  Gary

I had the largest retrofit in the history on Ampex.
