[QuadList] VPR-80 QC switcher w/Tek 528 Octal plug--How to translate function to Tek 1730?

Yes, all the 528's that I ordered for the AVR-2's, had the sync mod factory
installed.

I was told by some of the Old Quad Folks, and my boss,
(I had been in Quad Product Management for only 20 months when I introduced the
AVR-2 in 1974 )

that the monitor bridge w/ the 650/602/528 combination would never sell well.
(slot mask color, not a true vector scope, and a very simple WF monitor)

After the first year, it was about 75% of the systems that were sold with the
loaded bridge. This was over 200 systems.

And we were the largest single customer, that Tektronix had at that time.

I've sent Ted the diagram, but yes, the operator can also just change the scope
settings, and on the 1730, the memory recall makes it easy to save the proper
settings and select them anytime with a single button.

Interestingly, the 1730 doesn't need any modification, it was the original 528
that was modified. Tek had a mod that was installed in the scope to allow the
VTR to control the sweep and sync settings, temporarily overriding the normal
operating controls. There were slightly different mods for the 528 and 528A,
but without those, the 9-pin socket was only for the RGB parade display.
